Bumpers take a beating in daily driving. Here are the five most common types of damage we see and how we address each one.
1. Scratches and Scuffs
The most frequent bumper damage comes from minor contact—parking lot encounters, brushing against objects, or road debris. Surface scratches can often be buffed out, while deeper scuffs require filling and repainting.
2. Dents and Dings
Shopping carts, car doors, and minor impacts create dents. Depending on the plastic type and damage severity, we use heat reshaping, filler application, or a combination to restore the original contour.
3. Cracks and Splits
Impact damage can cause plastic bumpers to crack or split. We use specialized plastic welding and reinforcement techniques to restore structural integrity before refinishing.
4. Paint Peeling and Fading
UV exposure and environmental factors cause paint to peel, fade, or oxidize. Professional stripping, priming, and repainting restores a fresh, protected finish.
5. Collision Damage
More significant impacts can deform bumpers, break mounting points, and damage underlying structures. We assess each case individually, repairing what's restorable and replacing what's not.
